The way additions to Daniel and Esther are handled is very disorganized and confusing, Esther in particular.

Regarding Esther:

  • LXX has one copy with additions and one without, which makes sense given the Septuagint intersperses them in the text.
  • VG has one copy with ten chapters and one copy with thirteen chapters (because the additions are appended at the end). If the first ten chapters are the same, why are duplicates needed?

Regarding Daniel and Baruch: I suggest handling the tagging and numbering of the added verses the same as was done for LXX Esther:

  • Append letters to the numbers of the added verses in LXX Dn 3 and VG Dn 3. (In my own vault I kept the Nova Vulgata numbering in parentheses following)
  • Add tags for clarity and better navigation between LXX and VG:
    - Add #Bible/Dn/13 and #Bible/Dn/14 to LXX Suz 1 and LXX Bel 1, respectively
    - Add #Bible/Suz/1 and #Bible/Bel/1 to VG Dn 13 and VG Dn 14, respectively.
    - Add #Bible/Bar/6 to LXX LJr 1; add #Bible/LJr/1 to VG Bar 6

VG Est 11 and 13 are also missing verses.

Many thanks for this very detailed insight. I will try to find the needed time to process all this closely and amend all my scrapping scripts accordingly. Meanwhile, feel free to make some PRs on these scripts here : https://github.com/AnthropologieBiblique/Unbound2md !
