Description

With Auto Restart Sleep Timer enabled, the sleep timer does not automatically start when playing a new episode within the 5 minute window.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

  1. Start a podcast.
  2. Start a sleep timer that lasts longer than current episode.
  3. Allow episode to end.
  4. Start a new episode.
  5. Notice that the sleep timer is not active.

I'm trying to reproduce it on my device and I cannot.

Here are my steps for reference:

  • Add some episodes to up next
  • Start playing one episode
  • Set the sleep timer to 5 min
  • Fast Forward to the last minute of the show
  • Let it end by itself
  • Next show from Upnext starts normally
  • Sleep timer is still active
  • Even if a manually press to play another episode it still has the sleep timer active.

Am I missing some step?

Looking at the video above, my guess is that the timer was set for end of episode because the episode remains in the queue with 0s playtime left, which is what happens with end of episode timer. If the timer was set for longer than the episode duration, then the next episode should have played automatically because there were 2 more queued up.
