Seems I created this issue on the wrong repository.
(And ironically, it was reproduced and fixed there)

This issue exists on azure-documentdb-java as well.

Thanks @marmyr for your report. Java has two separate SDKs (Sync and Async), it seems the original report was for the Async SDK which was fixed. These 2 SDKs don't share the code base so that fix was not automatically picked in the Sync SDK.

The team is investigating and working on the fix for this scenario on the Sync SDK.
