Currently the extension folder's size is 7.55 MiB, of which 4.86 MiB is unused image assets under assets/ folder (PSD and PNG files).

You could safely remove them (except assets/icon.png) from the packaged extension to reduce its size. The images in the README file points to online GitHub links, so they are not affected.
