Installed it and runs successfully on raspberry pi 3B+ but not catching any mails from php

Are you sending the emails to the mailhog localhost and port? It needs to be sent to the right host IP & port in-order for mailhog to handle emails.

I suppose you could edit hosts file or send hostname as a header manually, but I generally send to an IP with a port.
