Football, also known as soccer, is a team sport where two teams of eleven players each compete to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team's goal. The game is played on a rectangular field with goals at each end. Players use their feet to pass, dribble, and shoot the ball, while goalkeepers are allowed to use their hands within the penalty area to block shots. The game starts with a kickoff from the center of the field. The objective is to score more goals than the opponent within the allotted time, typically two halves of 45 minutes each. Players must follow rules such as avoiding fouls, offsides, and maintaining fair play.
