crashing on welcome to bullworth

I downloaded the latest silentpatch, but unfortunately my game crashes at the Welcome to Bullworth title.
I turned on v-sync also but nothing helps.

FWIW that never made a difference to me, my game is installed on H: and I tried moving it across different drives to try and replicate this exact issue. No success.

It's a solution to a couple people, i've helped around 3 people who have had it work for them, and i think 2 who said it didn't work for them, keeping in mind they all have this exact same issue.
