Hello, I am new to GeMS and the cross section tool. I am trying to run the tool on a very simple gdb with a few orientation points and contacts. After reading through the Issues log I am using the xs-update version of the tool and created a geodatabase for a scratch space. The tool runs for a while, but then stops with an error. I am copying the end of the log and the settings window below.

Do you have a Type field in OrientationPoints and is it filled out for every row?

Thanks, that was the issue. After troubleshooting another issue (search distance > map extent) I now have the data projected and ready for me to draw my section. Are there any online tutorials/tips for using this tool?

Great! Glad to hear that. I will make a note to add a validation of that field.

No, I'm afraid we don't have any tutorials set up for this tool. From where you are now, I would digitize lines and map unit label points and use then those two feature classes to build polygons. Double-check the calculated apparent dips of your orientation points.
