Only LoudnessEqualizer doesnt work... #17
Comments
Hello, please, post the content of |
Linux version : MX Linux 23.4 (Kernel 6.1.0-28) Have 3 versions of this preset, none work; posting them based on the 'Date Modified' attribute: 1. Date Modified 9-8-2022
2. Date Modified 28-10-2023:
3. Date Modified 9-07-2024: { |
I loaded the last one on my system and it's working. Don't know what is wrong. Is Besides, I noticed that your version is very old. Now we are on |
When you say other presets are working, you mean your presets or the other presets of this repo? Anyway, this might hep you: https://www.reddit.com/r/MXLinux/comments/1hbeqkb/audio_issues/ But if you can install the version from Flatpak, it should be better, so you won't mess with system libraries and Flatpak will install their own files. For the Flatpak version, presets should be placed in |
The version of Debian MX Linux is based on doesn't yet support aforementioned version.
Yes -- but only once.
You may not believe, but I completely reinstalled the OS again and yet the issue persists. There is some kind of issue between init v/s systemd boot as well. I don't quiet well understand it [Pipewire is the default audio server in my distro, yet it doesnt work; curiously, pulseeffects worked with the corresponding LoudEq PE preset. .] I'll try to investigate more. BTW, which distro would you say is the most compatible with EasyEffects? |
If Pulseeffects works, it means Pipewire is not installed. Or there should be something wrong with the Pipewire configuration, so the Flatpak version won't work either. I don't know what distro to recommend. I use Arch and I would recommend it, but it could be problematic for someone who wants a more stable system and an easy way to install it. I'd say to try various distro installing them (one at a time) on a USB flash drive and test them installing EasyEffects. If it works out of the box, you shouldn't have problems. Yesterday I was watching this video from a creator who cares about user friendly distro and it seems Linux Mint is the recommended one, but if you want something more rolling release, Fedora and OpenSuse Tumbleweed could be a good choice either. But test them on a live USB first installing EE there before moving out. |
I just a reinstalled EE, this time with extreme care and attention to details, via CLI as mentioned on the flatpak site. It took some time, but now it works perfectly fine. Thank you for the help. Also, KUDOS for creating these presets -- ever since I used LE preset with EE (~ 2 years go), I decided never to go back to windows. This is the best sound I ever heard from my PC while watching movies. Cant thank you/community enough! One question: could a distro's updater/auto updates (mx updater in my case) break PipeWire and/or EE?? Have you heard anything like that? |
It could be, but it's hard to say if the problem lies on a mistake made by the packager of MX or it's a bug introduced by Pipewire/Wireplumber developers in the new version. It should be investigated. |
Hi,
Due to some issues, had to reinstall my MX Linux 23.
After today's reinstall, I've this peculiar issue where only LoudnessEqualizer doesn't have any impact (meaning no change in sound at all when the preset is selected, loaded). The same is not true of other presets, which is bizarre.
Please help.
Be advised, I''m no coder/developer, but can run commands, check config, share details.
