Bug: Font Awesome Customization no longer work versions above v.6.7

Bug description

I've been using following procedure https://github.com/FortAwesome/Font-Awesome/wiki/Customize-Font-Awesome to extend Font Awesome with some extra SVG icons. This worked perfectly until v6.7.0, and no longer works (even with v6.7.2.
