Affected app version

1.0.1

Affected Android/Custom ROM version

Android 11

Affected device model

Oscal C60

How did you install the app?

GitHub releases

Steps to reproduce the bug

1 Ensure you have a widget in the top part of the screen (I have a clock, but I am pretty sure that it could be anything else)
2 Create a shortcut for a contact (using Fossify Phone) or a file (using Fossify Files)

Expected behavior

A shortcut is created on the home screen

Actual behavior

Nothing happens

Screenshots/Screen recordings

No response

Additional information

If the widget is moved towards the bottom, so that the top part of the screen is “free”, then a widget is created in the top left corner of the screen. If the widget occupies that spot, the shortcut is not created.

  1. Can you do a screenshot of your launcher?
  2. Just to be sure - have you checked if the shortcut hasn't been created on the last available screen?

For some reason, shortcuts are now created after a restart. However, if I make the clock bigger (see screenshot 1) shortcuts are created after two screens. I mean, I get my home screen, an (apparently) empty screen, and a third screen with the shortcut. If I remove the shortcut, or move it to the home screen, only the home screen is left, so I guess the second one is indeed empty.
If I move the big clock below (see screenshot 2) the shortcut is created in the top left corner of the home screen.
Yesterday I had the same issues with a more "regular" clock, but as I said now I cannot reproduce those. And I do not think shortcuts were created on other screens, otherwise I guess they should still be there.
