Describe the bug

A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. I downloaded KeePassDX off of Fdroid
  2. I am using a keepassium.kdbx database for KeePassDX
  3. When I open the database for the first time, it will only show in the default Android directories. Here's a screen shot of the app and how that looks, my understanding this is the default andriod app to open with...

Expected behavior

A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

I am trying to figure out if I can keep the database in the Samsung Secure Folder to use?

KeePass Database

  • Created with: KeePassium on iPad
  • Version: 2.0.158
  • Location: Remote keepassium database downloaded off of iCloud to my Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+
  • Size: 13 KB
  • Contains attachment: No

KeePassDX:

  • Version: 4.1.1
  • Build: Libre - Downloaded from F-Droid
  • Language: English

Android:

  • Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (SM-X210)
  • Android Version: 14
  • One UI Version: 6.1

Additional context

Add any other context about the problem here.

I want to use Samsung Secure Folder and place it in the Internal Storage > Documents - I read online that KeePassDX will work work with Samsung Secure Folder.

Is this because I am using the Libre version downloaded off of F-Droid? Do I need to use the PlayStore version to have KeePassDX see the database in the Samsung Secure Folder?

THANKS

The operation of the libre version and the free version is identical.

KeePassDX uses Android's storage access framework to ask the file provider to provide a stream and the metadata of the desired file. It thus delegates the opening task to applications compatible with this standardized protocol.
If the Samsung Secure Folder application is not SAF-compatible, then you need to ask them for an upgrade.
