Installation in Lychee/public

I try to install Lychee 6.2.0 on a new webserver.
Unzipped Lychee.zip to /httpdocs.
If I point the Document root to /httpdocs/Lychee/public I get only a blank page.
If I point it to /httpdocs/Lychee (which is obviously wrong for security reasons) I get the warning page and the link to public and can install

What am I doing wrong?

• Can you look at your apache logs?
• Can you look at your console in your web browser?

It is very surprising you see nothing at all. Because it kinda means that Lychee is crashing before even getting into the framework to provide nice error messages.

Thanks, I found the error in the logs:
The open_basedir settings were to strict. When I changed the Document root to public, I pushed some php files out.
