[Guide] Quick Setup

MagmaGuy edited this page Feb 1, 2021 · 23 revisions

This guide assumes you are using EliteMobs 7.2.23 or later.

First boot

Restart once.

Why?EliteMobs sets increases maximum health of your spigot.yml config file the first time the server starts up. This is so Elite mobs can have more than 2000 health. It does not alter the health of any other mob - so it doesn't change vanilla or plugin mobs.

This change requires a restart to actually work.

Permissions

As of EliteMobs 7.2.23, all recommended permissions are already setup by default. You can see more about permissions here.

/em setup

You are able to see everything you can and should install in the /em setup menu. If you don't have access to it, OP yourself or give yourself the elitemobs.* permission. If you don't know how to give permissions, do /op YourNameHere from console.

Adventurer's Guild Hub world

The Adventurer's GUild Hub contains all the NPCs for getting EliteMobs quests, ranks, buying and selling items & more. It does not replace your existing world, it just adds a small hub.

  1. Download the world and unzip it

  2. Put the folder in the same folder your other worlds are in

  3. Restart or do /em reload

  4. Do /em setup and click on the Adventurer's Guild installation if the icon is orange. If it is red, you did one of the previous steps incorrectly.

Common issues

World is clearly wrong - NPCs floating, no buildings like in the video:

You uploaded the wrong level of directory. Redownload the file. When you extract it, look inside of the extracted folder. You want to upload the folder called em_adventurers_guild which should only contain the folders data, DIM1, DIM-1, region, level.dat, level.dat_old, session.lock and uid.dat. The folder you put with your other worlds should not contain a folder called em_adventurers_guild inside of it.

Button is always red:

If you renamed the folder name, it will not work. The folder name must match the name in the AdventurersGuild.yml configuration file, which by default should be em_adventurers_guild.

Minidungeons

Note: you need WorldEdit and WorldGuard for minidungeons to work! Additionally, disguises require LibsDisguises!

  1. Download the minidungeon from here for free ones or here for premium ones.

  2. Read the ReadMe.txt file inside to see how to upload the files

  3. From in-game, run the command /em setup
