When we joined NFT-DAO in late February, we did so hoping to contribute to the development of a vibrant community-driven project.
Based on what we have witnessed in the past few weeks, it is our assessment that NFT-DAO stopped being a project that nurtures its community and values the contribution of its members.
We have detailed some of those concerns here: #109
As such we have taken the decision to officially withdraw from the organisation.
We are also withdrawing our artworks from the Akkadia auction and marketplace.
We ask that the logo and any other visual content that we produced (banners, video intros) stop being used in any current and future NFT-DAO marketing materials including, but not limited to, the ticket design planned to be used in the upcoming sale, the NFT-DAO website, social channels, profile pictures (including Catalyst Ideascale), the intro to NFT-DAO podcasts and documents.
Please, also remove the Trybbles logo from the NFT-DAO website as we no longer plan to release that project on the envisioned NFT-DAO framework.
We ask that this is done over the course of the next 3 business days.
We also ask that our likeness isn’t included in any NFT-DAO content going forward, such as the image featured on the NFT-DAO website, in the section titled “Our mission” https://www.nft-dao.org/our-mission . In any case, we observe that this image is no longer relevant as several members featured in it have withdrawn from the organisation since we created it.
We would have been perfectly happy to entrust any assets and content we created and even transfer copyright if we felt we were departing a community-driven, open-source project.
However, it is our assessment that in its current form NFT-DAO is an organisation built for the profit of a few individuals under the guise of a community project.
We hope we are mistaken in this assessment and the organisation and its outputs, benefit and bring value to the Cardano community for many years to come.
There were many mistakes made over the course of these last few months, some of them detailed in Stephen’s report #104 , but none of those mistakes led to our decision.
Our outlook was that we wanted to give the DAO as many chances as it needed, to learn from those mistakes and grow into the organisation it claimed it wanted to be. All of them could have been worked on. There are always solutions.
However, we took the decision to part ways once we realised that the issues weren’t addressed; when it became clear to us that no effort was being made to improve the situation, as the status quo benefited a few individuals. The message implied was, don’t ask questions, just move on.
It’s only an experiment and an iterative process when you’re actively working on improving the outcomes.
Honesty of intent.
Like the members of the development team who recently departed, we also would like to wish NFT-DAO good luck in all its future endeavors. https://discord.com/channels/804069702572965888/814558887092027433/848220003873456229
Thank you for the experience,
