haskell.packages.ghc863.hpc-coveralls fails to configure (deps too restrictive) #53626

Issue description

hpc-coveralls has bounds that are too tight for aseon and containers, where it would actually compile.
Upstream bug: killy971/hpc-coveralls#82

Steps to reproduce

nix-build . -A haskell.packages.ghc863.hpc-coveralls

Tested against e39ff06.

Technical details

  • host os: Linux 4.14.91, NixOS, 18.09.1853.c2950341d03 (Jellyfish)
  • multi-user?: yes
  • sandbox: yes
  • version: nix-env (Nix) 2.1.3

Note: hpc-coveralls seems unmaintained. The correct action may be to remove it.

Checking hackage-packages.nix: scotty appears to be the only reverse-dependency of hpc-coveralls, and it can be disabled with a flag.

Scotty has moved away from hpc-coveralls, but the updated .cabal has not been uploaded to hackage. I've requested a metadata revision at scotty-web/scotty#224 .
