Yep this is possible, but there are some unique features to NativeShot, and I want to keep those, so I am having to use native messaging. So you will need to install a exe. I started work on it. Thanks so much for asking!

I am also brainstorming a way that users can submit any upload/cloud service without having me to hard code it in. :)

Thank @Ken-Saunders so much for following up! The desktop version will have all perf issues resolved and does not need firefox running in order to work :)

Hello, I'm the translator for bulgarian language. I just switched to Firefox 57 nighly and the addon is not working at all. Can you please check? I have enabled legacy addons. This is the best extension for screenshots, so please continue working on it :)
Can you share which features will be lost with web extensions?

All features will be back but with enhancements. It won't be a firefox addon, it will be an electron app. We can connect to it though with webext to give a gui in the browser.
