The MovieLabs Ontology is a corpus of work representing extensive research to defining traits for the whole of the MediaCreation industry. It is immediately applicable to OpenAssetIO.

Still waiting on the ontology being complete for digital assets enough to make this worth doing

I think its worth looking into this sooner rather than later. If we at least have an idea if and how this will work, then it de-risks future development trajectory, e.g. OpenAssetIO/OpenAssetIO-TraitGen#80, #96, etc.

Such tooling would certainly aid rapid exploration. I'm wondering if this may also be considered as an alternative traits repository of sorts while trait specs incubate/mature, en route to locking into MediaCreation when the dust on them has settled?
