see nwipe repo for plenty of discussions. A good starting point would be https://github.com/martijnvanbrummelen/nwipe#limitations-regarding-solid-state-drives |

Hello,
I recently learned about this project through SwitchedToLinux's video at https://youtu.be/fSPBlMdBBrc.
From your readme, you offer "Gutmann Wipe" for solid-state drives (SSDs). I do not see much here about whether there are any downsides to wiping a SSD this way or if it might damage the drive or whatever. And I do not see a mention of SSD support for any of the other methods. My understanding is that those methods are for HDD, but they might not necessarily be good for SSDs?
I see in another discussion that you were planning an "ata secure erase" method, but that looks like it will be a long ways off- #156 (reply in thread). In light of that and what I have written, if you would be so kind to elaborate on the other available methods and whether or not they work with SSDs, that would be appreciated. Thank you.
