Hello,

I can't connect to my mobile Alerts. It is in a other Netwok (the Gateway) and this is connected via VPN to my Home. And HA is in my Home network.

Is there a way to get the Mobile Alerts integration to work anyway?

When setting up the integration, only the error message appears:
Mobile-Alerts
No devices found on the network

Hi,

Gateway's control protocol relays on broadcast UDP packets. If you manage to tunnel such packets via VPN, integration discover the gateway. Next thing is access from gateway to HA computer where integration acts as proxy server. Unfortunately, integration use random port number. So it's not a simple task.

Hi,
I have a similar problem. I'm running HA on a virtual machine on a Synology NAS and so far everything works properly. When I add the mobile alert integration I also get the message: Mobile-Alerts
No devices found on the network.
Any suggestion where to look?

I've just created a new release, check it out, please.

I downloaded again, but unfortunately it still cannot find any devices on the network. Any suggestion what to check?

For info I've just managed to get this working on my QNAP with Home Assistant running on a Docker Container. As it stands this integration relies on having broadcast UDP working for discovery. If your home assistance is not running on the host network then this will fail. There are two solutions:-

  1. Change the configuration of your docker to use host networking.
  2. The integration has an update and allows you to enter in the IP address of the gateway.

Option 2 is how most other home assistant integrations get round the problem. If they can't auto discover any devices on the local network then they ask for an IP address, this also gets round any mDNS issues.

I hope this helps.

I have Home Assistant running in a Docker container with "host networking" and I cannot add the Mobile Alerts Gateway.

Setting a static IP address would be good though.

Docker IP: 192.168.0.2 / 24
IoT-Network: 192.168.60.33 /24

I was having the same issue using docker. However there is a simple workaround by using macvlan adapters instead of bridge ones in docker. After that the dhcp discovery found my gateway
