cross-platform differences in UI submit button

On MacOS in Chrome, the submit button is an arrow.
the submit button is slightly larger than the text input field.

On MacOS in Firefox, the submit button is an arrow.
the submit button is slightly larger than the text input field.

On Windows 7 (VM) in Chrome, the submit button is an arrow.
the submit button has the same height as the text input field.

On Windows 7 (VM) in IE11, it looks like the arrow is only partially displayed.

On Windows 7 (VM) in IE9, it looks like the arrow is only partially displayed.
the submit button is slightly larger than the text input field.

On Windows 7 (VM) in IE8. only an html page is displayed.
