How to change transparency/alpha of Zep editor (under ImGui)

Hi there, I'm hosting a Zep editor in my live coding environment, with ImGui for the UI (and Zep within that). My overall UI can have its transparency adjusted to fade in and out when desired. To do this, I'm setting the Alpha style variable in ImGui (ImGuiStyleVar_Alpha), which affects everything I draw afterwards with normal ImGui calls. However, the Zep part is not fading appropriately (presumably because it makes "low level" ImGui calls?). I don't see a way to set the alpha or colors of the current Theme with Zep... Any suggestions?

What I'm thinking would be to modify (or inherit from) ZepDisplay_ImGui to make it use ImGui's Alpha style variable in all its methods, such as DrawRectFilled() or DrawChars(). Does this sound like a reasonable thing to do, or is there some more "natural" way to go about it?

Have a look at the Zep.cfg file; there is a 'minimal' style, along with options for it to fade away over time when the user isn't typing. The window.cpp file uses that.
I don't see a problem with your fix either though.

Thanks, that's cool, I wasn't using (or even aware of) the Zep.cfg file. But even so, I want to be able to able to have the calling ImGui code still modulate the alpha when desired, so I probably would still need my fix (or something similar).

Also, this background fading doesn't work with text, line numbers or the cursor (e.g. DisplayLine() doesn't call GetBlendedColor(), so I couldn't fade everything out this way anyhow). But it is a nice feature to fade out some of the extra stuff.

Yes, the fading was designed for a live coding environment where you want people to still see the code, but have the unnecessary elements fade out with time.
