I've not been using packer, but are there any significant changes between 1.7.4 and the latest version?

I would say the most significant would be these commands:

• packer plugin
• packer-sdc plugin-check

I currently don't have the time cycles to implement this. However, if you can raise a PR that supports the latest version, I'd be happy to merge it into the main branch

A straight transition to the new version should still work, however, I wont be able to add new features any time soon
