My friend got stuck in this dead underwater banarcle and drowned

I think the problem is that he got pulled inside of it, then we killed it but he was clipped inside maybe ?

I'm not sure, maybe it's meant to be this way ?

I"m not sure exactly where that was.
I seemed like he was clipped inside the plant/terrain. Like the barnacle dragged him into the ground.
Even though it was dead he couldn't move.
