Usage of angular route segment inside ng-view

Hi,
I have a project already using the standard angular ng-view and I cannot change it (because I'm not the owner of that part) but I would like to use angular-route.segment inside the ng-view. My idea is to redirect the ng-view to a template with the app-view-segment="0" and from there use the nested view way proposed by this project.
Is this possible? Can you point me to the right direction to achieve my goal?
