Siremis not showing submit/login button after clean install

I followed the installation instructions, and was sent to the login page with the admin/admin default credentials.
I can fill both username and password, choose the cookies length, but cannot 'submit', enter, ... to enter the management console:

Any idea what went wrong?

Latest github version of siremis, installed on Ubuntu 20.04 with PHP7.4.3 enabled, on a mariadb/mysql database.

The latest git development version has some commits attempting to add support for PHP 8.x, which is not completel and likely it broke something. Use the git tag v5.4.0 for PHP 7.x

Because it does not seem (easily) feasible to upgrade the code for PHP 8.x due to very old frameworks that are used, we plan to come with a new alternative implementation in the near future.
