Altering enchantment visuals

I've been trying to alter the enchantment glow on weapons by editing column #31 in spellitemenchantment.dbc but the altered effects are only working in the character selection screen. When I log in, the normal glow remains. Enchanting a new weapon makes no difference.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
