screen uresponsive to sd card

hi all this is my first time on the forum so please be patient with me, I have an SR and I have flashed the latest firmware onto it and reflashed the screen firmware that goes with it. When I flashed the screen everything works except the sd card reader so I plugged it into my laptop and ran prontoface to see if it would print from there, it says print started but the hot end and bed don't heat up whereas they do from the touch screen so i have a situation where i can get the SR up to temp but it won't print and the other option loads a print but won't heat up. Has anyone got any idea where i've gone wrong
