Stepper motor stopped working. New one also doesn’t work?

A little context. I updated the pad to the new version just released and I noticed the extruder gears stopped turning. I had just bought an entire new effector from FLsun due to my nozzle breaking off in the block and thought I'd install to see if it was the motor. Once installed it also didn't work. I went back and began by reflashing the speeder pad back to previous used version 1.2v2 in the event there was an issue sending instruction to the extruder with the new one. I then tried to extrude/load to see if the gears would turn and nothing still. I then tried using the old stepper motor which worked and still no movement. Now I didn’t install the old motor but instead just plugged it into the appropriate spot on the board. Figured the machine wouldn’t know where it was as long as it was getting signal. But again, no movement whatsoever. I’m not even sure what to do at this point as now I don’t think it’s the motor, I think it’s something before that in that it’s not getting any instruction to move. Please help me troubleshoot.
