It's not cropped but you can see how the bottom spacing changed, it's not as bad as the OP's case but that may just be because of theming. The Cellrenderer doesn't account for the change in height in the caption. The bottom and top spacing should remain the same but in this example it shifts down with less on the bottom and more on the top.
