Link to the package upstream website/repository

Utility this package has for you

There is already steamtinkerlaunch in Nixpkgs however it's difficult to set it up as compatibility tool in Steam. I know that Chaotic Module provides new option to steam called extraCompatPackages. Would it be possible to integrate steamtinkerlaunch into this option?

Right now I see that people are just creating symlink to steamtinkerlaunch in compat folder and it kind of works(there are some dependecies issues).

Do you consider the package(s) to be useful for every Chaotic-Nyx user?

YES!

Do you consider the package to be useful for feature testing/preview?

  • Yes

Are you sure the package isn't available upstream already?

  • Yes

Does the package's license allow redistributing it?

YES!

Have you searched the issues to ensure this request is unique?

  • YES!

Have you read the README to ensure this package is not banned?

  • YES!

This is how I'm configuring steamtinkerlaunch on my system. And the flake portion. Basically just add all the tools that STL uses to the home.packages and override the src to point to the master branch. Then run steamtinkerlaunch compat add once so it 'installs' to Steam. I haven't tried using it in the extraCompatPackages. But as far as I can tell, I've had zero problems with this setup. As a caveat, I'm not a heavy user and don't use all functionality of STL, but the basic stuff works fine. The only 'special' thing I do is have a post-command that runs in topgrade to 'update' the symlink so I don't have to do it manually when I update the system.

But I'm all for an entry in the chaotic repo!
