Adding groups to recommended citation

Currently an author or group doesn't show up in the recommended citation unless somehow both first and last name are populated. As a result, if for example a group wants to be included in the recommended citation, this shows up rather weird (e.g. Hakai Geospatial would show up as Geospatial, H.).

Would it be possible to either:
a) Have an additional field in the form for group or team (i.e. under Last Name) that would appear in the recommended citation if neither first or last name are provided, or
b) Have last name be the only required field to show up in the recommended citation?

I think probably the latter is easier to implement?
