What problem are you facing?

I would like the ability to create a Block Storage Volume using resource definitions with Crossplane.

How would this play together with the CSI, could they be synced, or a copy of the CSIs state kept read-only in Crossplane, too?

+1. I think a k8s cluster without any persistent storage is quite useless.
