Users use different keyboards, so the hard-coded button mappings make it difficult for them to test and play Peanut-SDL.

Examples:

  • On the standard QWERTY keyboard, Z for A and X for B is opposite to their position on the Game Boy face buttons. This breaks games that depend on B for attack left and A for attack right, such as Lode Runner and Missile Command.
  • On French keyboards, Z is above S.
  • On German keyboards, Z is above H.
