The project sounds very interesting, but I am a bit confused w.r.t. using it in my projects. Do I need an account somewhere? Is it free to use if I have my own storage? If it is not free, where can I find information about the pricing?

Hi @tibuch - thanks for your question! I agree it is not clear in our documentation, the best we have is this notice in the quickstart:
Arraylake is only available to Earthmover customers. If you're interested in becoming a customer, feel free to book a demo.
Arraylake is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. Currently, access to the platform is invite only. We are a small startup, and right now we are prioritizing supporting customers whose needs are aligned with our current capabilities and near-term roadmap. We plan to go into general availability next year, with a standard self-signup experience. In the meantime, please shoot me an email if you'd like to learn more about becoming a customer: ryan@earthmover.io.
Is it free to use if I have my own storage?
The Arraylake service is essentially a metadata database (see architecture). Even if you have your own object storage, the service you are paying for is this metadata management service.
