Steps to reproduce

  1. When the app-window is relatively narrow
  2. All the room titles in the Chat-View are shortened, often severely so
  3. Even though there is more than enough space.

Normal window size:

Slightly smaller window:

Outcome

What did you expect?

Room titles should use all of the available space, and the full title bar should be a click target to open the room settings, if it is not used for something else.

What happened instead?

The room title is shortened

I can of course send logs if that really helps, but this sort of issue is rarely visible in logs in my experience.

This seems to be the relevant code Sadly, my Mac GUI Programming time is a so long ago, that my ObjC-Foo seems to not be very useful in fixing this issue. :/

I can reproduce it .. but strangely only after a while, it looked absolutely fine for a couple of minutes there.

This was one drawback of #3335. It doesn't happen until you click on the header to push the room details, pop back out and then select another room. I've been putting this down to an iOS on Mac/Catalyst bug as it doesn't happen on iPad.

There is a dumb workaround until you switch rooms: Hide the sidebar, open the room details, pop back to the room and show the sidebar. But as soon as you select another room it breaks again.
