Lidar metadata requirements

In our working metadata reporting format draft document, we have a new lidar-specific table . Given the specific nuance of raw lidar data and the subsequent derived products (DSM, DEM, CHM, etc), what specific requirements do we want to include in the table? What raw or instrument-specific information is required to ensure data can be processes from straight off the sensor, matched with IMU/positioning info and converted to georeference point clouds? Input in this table is welcome from all, but specifically from those who are currently flying or have experience flying lidar systems on UAS.

For example, lidar systems are usually used in conjunction with IMU/GPS systems like this:

Its likely critical that we include no only lidar specific info but also the associated systems used to georeference lidar returns
