GNOME 42 on Fedora 36, but I had the same issue in Fedora 35
Using wayland, but the bug persists in X.org
The flatpak version of spotify
Current behaviour:
The GNOME media player widget in the top bar that shows the album artwork and song, and media controls shows the song info correctly, but no notification box is shown in the desktop and dissapears when a new song starts playing. The notification is generated but it's automatically processed as a "missed notification", showing the bullet point sign next the date (I believe it's how GNOME treats missed notifications. I don't know the correct term). All other application notifications work as expected
Steps to reproduce the bug:
Launch spotify
Change a song manually, or leave it the current song to play until it ends and automatically play the next
Things I tried without luck:
I checked the GNOME configuration notifications and everything is activated for spotify. I also tried to deactivate/log out/log in/run spotify on each option
I tried to disable/enable spotify notifications in the very spotify app. It stops generating notifications and when I enable the option again it generates the missed notifications
I tried running spotify on wayland
I tried running spotify on x.org
Other:
I tried to generate a low urgency notification via the notify-send -u low 'sample notification' command and it replicates the exact behaviour I'm experiencing
Any help would be appreciated :)
