Logs not get converted to desired format when SIGUSR2 signal is triggered.

What is a problem?

Hello, I have a case where I'm monitoring a file for modification using fluentd exec plugin. When file content gets modified or updated I'm running a script which will trigger a SIGUSR2 signal to fluentd which will shutdown and restart the fluentd. 
Now my issue is I'm converting all the logs captured by fluentd to specific format. When SIGUSR2 is triggered some logs will be generated related to that. These logs are not following the desire that I want.

My assumption is when signal is triggered it'll stop the shutdown the fluentd so there won't be any fluentd to convert logs to desired format.

It would be great help if anybody provides solution to this issue.
