Doesn't Rename #1
Comments
Hi, it only renames the tab, not the file. Pre-populating the field with the current filename seems useful, a pull request would be awesome, as I don't have the time to work on this. Also note that I developed this for ST2, I haven't tested it in ST3, as I don't use ST3. Btw, I also added a link to http://frozenice.de/blog/rename-tab-st2-package/ to this repo's summary. |
So... the use case is not to rename the file of the opened tab? That was the functionality I was looking for. Currently, to rename a file, you have to find it in the sidebar, which can be tricky if you have a lot of files, or if it's nested deeply! I was looking for a quick way to rename the file by clicking on the tab instead of trudging through the sidebar. |
I was looking for a way to only rename the tab and leave the file alone, not create an unsaved version. If I get the gumption, I may do a pull and see what I can manage. |
This plugin appears to create a new file with the name provided. I would expect it to rename the file similar to when you click on rename in the sidebar (including pre-populating the field with the current file's name).
