Is this project still active? #17

uMatrix was already in a pretty good place when it was archived, so not much work really needs to be done beyond rebranding. It seems to me that this repo is mostly here just in-case Mozilla changes something about Firefox that breaks uMatrix/nuTensor. |
Sorry for the lack of activity here, I've been pretty busy with work etc. I started this project for exactly that, just in case uMatrix stopped working for me in Firefox. It still works perfectly for me. I wasn't expecting many people to find my fork... I'm hoping to do more with it as and when I get time, but I can't promise anything! |
Thank you both for your information. Good to know this project has not been abandoned. I've used NoScript from its very first release and, although it is a very good add-on, it doesn't compare to uMatrix/nuTensor. As far as people finding your fork, there were over 34,000 users of uMatrix. Most of those, I would guess, only looked on Mozilla's AMO site. Maybe some looked on GitHub but couldn't, or wouldn't, compile your fork. There is no mention of nuTensor in the uMatrix reviews. Would it be appropriate to mention it there? There are a lot of positive reviews for uMatrix. The following is from the reviews - "I wish someone is willing to continue to maintain this extension." https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/addon/umatrix/reviews/1599032/ The third paragraph in this review is interesting. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/addon/umatrix/reviews/1487982/ An example of uMatrix (AMO) and nuTensor (GitHub) confusion. https://www.reddit.com/r/uMatrix/comments/jllr34/umatrix_fork/ |
@TeslaMagic That third paragraph is very interesting. Never thought about that, but would be very useful I think. |
@DrFlibble Just to say that I found this particular fork from skimming https://github.com/gorhill/uMatrix/network and deciding the "shape" of the commits in this one implied the most active maintenance, so thank you! |
I saw it mentioned on HN, thank you for the initiative! |
Could it be possible to have this extension on the Chrome store ? I'm using Vivaldi |
There doesn't appear to be too much activity. Please indicate if development has terminated. I hope this would not be the case because this is a much-needed function.
