re: #2359 that issue was locked for some reason.

I have the latest versions of everything (node, npm, gulp), so i'm not sure that's the issue.

the transpilation docs you linked to liks to a 'more advanced dive', here: https://gulpjs.com/docs/en/documentation-missing, which is a 404. I would submit a PR, but i wouldn't know what to write. i'd love to learn, but i can't find the docs.

The team doesn't currently have the bandwidth to write any advanced docs. If you want to submit a PR, we will review.

ok, so the original issue ('need ES6 gulpfile example') is probably valid then? or do you consider that fixed?
