The player model is a big part of story telling. It tells a story which should match the overall concept of Inexor.
Players will see it constantly in the game so they will take a close look at it. The quality of the player model has significant impact on the game's overall impression.
Some of the models available from Cube2 have inappropriated licenses so we can't use them.
The playermodels also need animations which refine the look of player actions.

Because there is so much focus set on player models they have the potential to ruin the overall story telling rather than to refine it. If we use player models which have a sort of inconsistent design this could really mess up the look of Inexor.
