Firebase Analytics events not logging

I cannot get Analytics events to show up in the Google Analytics dashboard. Except for the initial screen tracking event which gets send 5 times no logEvent or logScreenView events are showing up. I'm using a managed expo setup.

Implementation part

import analytics from '@react-native-firebase/analytics';

The console log "Test" is showing up fine but the analytics events are not showing up on the GA dashboard. This is happening locally on the simulator with a development build from eas and in production builds both on android and ios
