I'd like to get the front page loading well on 3g using chrome simulator network throttle. (Thanks @ferndopolis for opening my eyes!)

There is a redraw for the font and glyph-icon.

Initial draw:

2 redraws after text font and icon font load

Everything looks great with 4G or better.
