kitty detached mode config issues

nnn + kitty + micro detached text issue

Specs

[x] Operating System: Debian 12
[x] Desktop Environment: GNOME
[x] Terminal Emulator: Kitty
[x] Shell: fish
[x] Custom desktop opener (if applicable): nuke
[x] Issue exists on nnn master: -

Issue

Can't tell if this issue is with kitty, nnn, micro or all three but I've been at this for a few days.

Essentially I'm having an issue trying to take advantage of nnn's detached text feature with the micro editor through kitty.
Below I have outlined two configs and the issues therein.

I've followed the guide present here:

but something is off

As you can see in the attached video, either:

1. nnn will try to open and kitty will fail with the error:

Failed to launch child: micro "/home/fugue/Documentos/004-archive/these.txt"
With error: No existe el fichero o el directorio
Press Enter or Esc to exit

2. Any file opened will be treated as a new file(?) and any file created or opened will error on save in micro with the message:

Parent dirs don't exist, enable 'mkparents' for auto creation

I'm sure this is a failing on my part to understand the syntax bash and kitty require.

Well this is embarrassing...
Think I fixed it by deleting the quotation marks...
This works:

kitty -e vi $*

although the -e flag may not be necessary at all
