M5StickC-Listener can't connect to wifi

Hi to all of you,
I'm very new to github and came to it for the Tally Arbiter project.
I'm not sure beeing in the right place to make questions, please redirect me to the right place if I'm wrong here.

What I did:

• I flashed my M5stickC-Plus with the m5stickc-listener.ino from TallArbiter-master.
• Uploading the sketch with Arduino IDE works fine after installing the missing libraries.
• In the sketch I changed #define C_PLUS 0 to 1 as I use a C-Plus
• In /* USER CONFIG VARIABLES I have added the IP (192.168.8.200) of the TallyArbiter-Server and Port 4455.
• The server (RPi4) is connected to my SSID: mobileStudioWiFi from router (192.168.8.1)

After uploading the sketch, the M5stick reboots and i get:

• a black screen with " booting... "
• seconds later in seoncd row appears " SSID: "
  Now nothing changes anymore.

How can I access the M5Stick AccessPoint to enter the credentials of my mobileStudioWiFi ?

Did you follow the setup guide in the Readme file?

The user variables in the .ino file shouldn't be directly edited

yes I followed the readme,
In the sketch I edited only these USER CONFIG VARIABLES

I now uploaded the .ino file from this >link< (by MatteoGheza from 5.12.2021)

• whitout changing anything: Display on the M5StickC+ is a complete mess
• when changing only the " #define C_PLUS 0 //CHANGE TO 1 IF YOU USE THE M5STICK-C PLUS " from 0 to 1 I get the same
  booting... SSID:
  as in the picture above

And the M5StickC+ does not create any AP I could connect to

Thanks for the info. If you keep the USB connect while flashing the device and open up the terminal you should see some logs popping up. Please check there for any error

I've now installed the esphome flasher and used the readme to flash the M5StickC+ with the latest .ino.bin

BETTER results but not 100%

1. I got the AP and could do the Setup using my phone

2. I can see the M5StickC+ in the TallyArbiter webinterface , so it has got an IP from the router and connected to the TA-server.

3. In producer view I may activate the Flash button and the M5StickC+ flashes

4. BUT the display looks like this, and it's the white upper right rectangle which is flashing when I hit Flash
   

5. When changing Input1 status:

• deselecting the Input 1 on my ATEM, the white rectangle turns BLACK
• Input 1 in Preview (green) on my ATEM, the white rectangle turns Purple-White
• Input 1 in Program (red) on my ATEM, the white rectangle turns WHITE

As the topic question is resolved , I would closed this thread concerning the wifi issue.
Solution for me was to use methode 1 to flash the M5StickC+ instead of using the arduino IDE methode.

For methode one I installed the node.js and flashed the .ino.bin firmeware to the M5StickC+, as described in the linked ReadMe in post from @mg-1999.

Concerning the next issue, I think its better starting a new threat.

Using the listener file in 3.0.3, flashing worked with the Arduino IDE.

My error was to wait for a too long time to have something hapen on the display.

As soon as the display shows „booting…“ grab your phone and check the available WiFi list.
A M5-stick Wifi AP will popup and you have to connect to it.
Once connected you will get the settings page where you first have to check if you have the right TA-Server IP set.
Second you have to enter the Wifi SSID an PW.
