Recommended settings for combat? #234

OK, so I am now kicking butt in combat. The "channel" tab is key. I don't actually require any custom filters or triggers. It is helpful to assign a /canceltts macro to my hotbar because even at speed 8 lots of aggs will fill the TTS buffer with old speech, making combat hard, but at that point, I just throw AoE attacks anyway. Once it is down to the boss, I cancel the speech buffer and then can hear what the boss is doing spell-by-spell. I'm now confident enough at combat that I've made a new character on Primal/Famfrit (my dauther's home world) named Blind Tank. As the name implies, he's a tank, now a level 32 Warrior. I'll try to find a free company for low-vision folks. Does anyone know of one? |

Thanks for writing TextToTalk! I have spent a stupid number of hours enjoying FFXIV thanks to this plugin. Like many folks out there with low vision playing FFXIV, I've managed to complete the MSQ, raised my character to level 100 (summoner), and am looking for improving skills.
Now that I've done that, I'm trying different classes, and currently play a blue mage. I'm finding some of the masked carnival stages challenging. The Youtube videos say things like, "When she casts X, cancel it with Flying Sardine."
The problem I currently have on the hardest stages (starting at stage 25) is I can't read what spells they are casting, so I can't react before they go off. This winds up killing me over and over, withouit much chance of improvement at some stages.
Note that I'm happy listening at max speed (10). With my current settings, new combat speech does not cancel the current speech, and it backs up, even at max speed. I've added two exclusion triggers, for anything with "damage" and anything with "you". Even so, in difficult combat, it still backs up, partly due to the pauses between sentences.
Is there a way to cancel pending speech when new speech arrives? If so, can I enable this only during combat with triggers?
Note: I'm a programmer, and can help edit code if needed.
