play(start, stop) in wavesurfer v7?

Older versions of Wavesurfer have the play(start, stop) method that allows playing a particular span of audio but the start and stop arguments are missing in the current version of v7.

What's the current way of doing this? Or should I file a feature request to bring back start and stop arguments?
