kivy reloader does not respect turning off multitouch emulation

in beautiful app setup:
in main.py, before anything is imported, you set this:

from kivy.config import Config
Config.set('input', 'mouse', 'mouse,multitouch_on_demand')

and kivy-reloader still has multitouch enabled (red circle when you right click).
